Senpai George Brock (1st Dan)
Senpai George started his karate journey when he joined Seido in 2009 at the age of eleven. He graded to Shodan in 2015, just a few weeks shy of his 18th birthday.
George is a dedicated and enthusiastic karate-ka, with a passion for kumite (sparring). He is continually working on techniques, both old and new, fine-tuning the old and developing the new. He is an accomplished competitor in tournaments, with a few trophies and medals under his belt. Most notably, in 2014, he competed in the Seido National Australian Tournament and won first place in all three categories - kata, points kumite and contact kumite.
George's approach towards karate is straight-forward: 'with dedication and hard work, anyone can become a good karate-ka' but then he rightly points out that this philosophy can be applied to most things in life. With determination, commitment, resilience and good attitude comes a greater sense of achievement.
George runs an open class on Saturday mornings, 11:15am - 12:15pm. All grades and ages are welcome. Essentially, it is a fitness/conditioning class including bag work, pad work and basic drills. Gloves required.
Senpai George looks forward to seeing you at his class in the near future.
